No Budget in Illinois means.....
No budget left for road repairs in my wonderful home state means:
Last winter's potholes will be there next winter...only LARGER.....Will they fix 'em when big rigs start vanishing? Last winter's road kill is STILL on the road, along with THIS SPRING'S road kill, and it is finally WARMING UP. I personally counted 21 dead deer on I-74 from Bloomington to Morton, and some are in Advanced state of.....well you know..... (If you travel thru Illinois, ROLL UP YER WINDOWS!!!! IT STINKS!!!) Last year's dead roadside grass and weeds will be overgrown will this year's roadside grass and weeds. (I wonder, could this be why so many deer are dead along the road? They can't see the road for the weeds?) The State Road works Dept says it ran outta money because of the Fierce winter. They wont get the new budget til July 3rd.....by then the deer will be bones....I hope....

Heh, know what you mean mate. Massachusetts is still making up lost ground from that brilliant Big Dig fiasco, and Western Mass roads are truly horrendous. Isn't it just ridiculous?

I think our local "Roadkill Cafe" musta come and got some of em.....it was a tad bit cleaner today. Actually I think the cops shoveled the bodies into roadside ditches.....I could STILL and YET smell the carcasses......
Let me add to the casualty list from what I counted today: Three Coyotes A REDTAILED hawk A mallard duck about fifty small birds of various species Nine skunks Three cats One dog Thirty Possums and Coons And many unidentifiable smears (possibly rabbits and such)
