Re: what are you up to over the weekend

I think another game is in the ofing for me today...maybe a replay of Axis & Allies: D-Day, which didn't go that well for the Allies yesterday. It's in the 90's, nearing 100 today, so outside doesn't look that attractive to me today. I'm desperately trying to convince myself not to venture out to the Craft store, which had a 50% off coupon in the Sunday flyer today...there's a storage box I want to pick up for my Axis & Allies Miniatres, which is regularly $35. t'd be an hour and a half venture...round trip.

Re: what are you up to over the weekend

With this heat (upper 90s which is very unusual for here) I'm just sitting tight with the AC. I might, just might answer the call of a 1/32 Komet calling from the closet.

Re: what are you up to over the weekend

Well, I done broke down yesterday, and went out to that craft store I mentioned pondering over...Michael's. I found the storage box I wanted, but they were all a tad beat up and extremely dusty...obviously, an item not exactly flying off the shelf; and at $34.99, I could see why. Very pricey; but it was perfect for my Axis & Allies Miniatures infantry and small vehicles, so I knew it was worth the try. I used the 50% off coupon, and since they didn't have any that were "clean and unscuffed", the young woman gave me another 15% off for damaged goods! (I'm sure my charming personality had a lot to do with it, too!) So, I ended up paying $12 and change for it!!! Good deal! The fact that it's a little battleworn makes no nevermind to me, in the end. I spent almost 3 hours rearranging my infantry, artillery, and German small vehicles to it. Three quarters full, and I still have more to add, and it'll be all set (though, it's still going to be a tight squeeze).

Pictures will be posted in the Gaming Forum under the Axis & Allies storage thread, for anyone interested in seeing my acquisition!

I picked up a 5 gallon glass carboy, looks like I'll be teaching my son the art of homebrewing.
