Re: What is your favorite music group.

Yeah....I've read several things that mention that the music industry is having a real hard time with CD sales, especially to the younger crowd, as downloading for MP3's have taken off like a rocket. A lot of music stores have gone under, as well, as they can't unload the discs! I think it's just a matter of time, but that's my opinion.

On the bright side, you can still find vinyl albums aplenty on the secondary market, and I don't see that going away anytime soon....heck, I still have my turntable and a fairly sizeable collection of LP's....and I suspect CD's will go down the same avenue. But let's face it...MP3's are here to stay.

Re: What is your favorite music group.

yup I still liw the Cd's though as you don't have to download the music but MP3's are much nicer because you can accrs more than one CD.

You should just go and pick up 'Paranoid'. Definitely worth the investment.

The music industry refuses to change it's marketing model to match the times. Prince has the right idea, or at least a start: he gives his CD's away...at his concerts.

My biggest issue with CD sales is paying $11-15 for an album that's as old as I am (I'm 40 ). The pirate market will always be there, the music industry needs to find a way to make purchasing more attractive than Torrents and such. Don't ask me how.

Yeah like how many times can they keep brining out another Elvis Presley Anthology and charge a premium for it, i find it offensive that they re-issue a CD of someone and expect us to pay $29.95 for it today but could pick up the same CD a few years back at $8.95.

Another fraud is that old groups re-record their old stuff with new technology that sounds crap because the new stuff has no soul and again they want us to pay bucket loads for the honour. It's ripoffville to me.

I agree to that Metalica had there first album played out again on modern crap it sounded horrible I ruturned it and demanded my money back I had to go up to the stoors damn manager to get it eventially though he let me get two free CDs in stead of the money which was ok with me.

Also another thing Modern Rock groups suck no offense to anyone who likes them but old one's actually have somthing to say all of the 60's and 70's groups struck out against Vietnam no offense to any Veterens I hold you In the highest respect possible. the 80's had things to say it was a time of patreoitic metal band s like Metalica's and justice for all album. They also had pther things to say that are too numerous to name. When Carter was president they had somthing to say about the depression during his term. When regan was president they had somthing to say about his attemted murder.

The 90's had its fair share of good groups even though there all mostly the same as the 80's but with different things to say I know one that sung about Bill Clinton and his affairs if he had affairs outside of Marrige.

Modern groups have nothing to say ecept Iraq and even those groups in my opinon suck they would really only be good if they where Veterans of Iraq who actually know whats it's like over there.

anyways I just don't like new groups.

Re: What is your favorite music group.

Kudos Kurt! Check out Pink Floyd, Roger Waters had something to say with just 'bout every verse in all his lyrics. Neil Young is another one that express his feelin's in his lyrics n' he's still active n' get's more angry with it all by the minute.
