What appears to be range testing of a T II

Anyone have any clues as what all the gear was for?

I have seen this tiger photographed before but not in this pose. The tiger is definately on the range and from memory the equipment was for measuring muzzle velocity and escaping gas pressure. I could be wrong though a good discussion point

I think it would be a great discussion point. Whats with the custom paint job on the fenders?

Hm im not sure as to why they are painted differently. They could have been painted white as marker's for the driver when travelling or they could be just mispainted replacement fender's.

I suspect the fender colors are used to position the tank accurately during the gunnery tests. The color contrast helps align the front end squarely on the gun line.

The checked color pattern on early V-2 rockets was similarly used to track the rockets during flight. You could tell if the rocket was rotating and gauge distance by the checkered pattern.
