Re: Scrap Metal-Photo Album of Destroyed Armor

Well, here some of my contribution to the "Scrap heap"

A Polish 7TP Abandoned.

A British A13 Knocked out somewhere near Dunkirk.

A CharC Probably knocked out by air attack. Note another wrecked tank just behind it.

A Panther, opened up like a Sardine can. The original book caption says it was knocked out by an AP round....It looks more like the crew destroyed it to me.

Well...this looks like at one time..it "may" have been a STuG. Caption says it was knocked out by air, near Normandy.

Re: Scrap Metal-Photo Album of Destroyed Armor

Another set of 6 pics.

German Infantry examine a 45mm equipped Soviet Armored car. It was Hastily abandoned when the engine died. (Yeah I was too lazy to look up what it is, I leave that to you guys)

German Infantry Take a break next to a Wrecked T-34. The turret has definitely been sprung. Also note that the Infantry are using the tank's running board for a table.

A Lend Lease British Mark VI Lt. Tank meets it's end on the Ostfront.

Not every tank ended up on the Scrap Heap. Here a Battle damaged track and Drive wheel are replaced on a STuG in Russia.

Not everything that was scrapped were tanks! Here a German troop train was derailed by Soviet Partisans in Czechoslovakia.

And here another train met it's end on a pressure mine, placed on a bridge in Western Ukraine.

Re: Scrap Metal-Photo Album of Destroyed Armor

And 6 more:

More Wrecked trucks than you can count! This mass of trucks was caught by the Luftwaffe attempting to get across the River Don.

Two Panzer IV Gs Killed in place by Soviet tanks. (Love the white wash and Pine boughs)

A Mangled Nashorn destroyed on the Eastern Front near Drogobich in August 1944

A Panzer IV G Burns....somewhere on the Ostfront

A Turretless Panzer IV near Zhitomir in the Ukraine

Two "Recycled" BT-7s meet their previous owners, and lose. Caption says T-34s took them out.

was the best thing to do?, stay in the tank? or make a run for it out in the open?
