You sure that is in France? I thought the "white cross" I.D. was only used in Poland...? However, maybe not all the vehicles got the "black strip down the center" upgrade.

I noticed that too, and double checked the info. Then I noticed something else a bit odd. Look at the plates. No WH, WL or SS designations.

That got me to wondering if this vehicle might have been rushed in for a PK unit or some other non combat group in need of a radio car.

I've just seen in a book that this picture is taken in Sohaczewie, september 16, 1939 n' that the Sd.Kfz. 232 is belonging to LSSAH with the vehicle-id SS-1091.

If that's the real McCoy I don't know but it looks credible to me.

Ooops, as I recall the gun was mounted facing to the "rear" of this AC. However, since the forward and reverse gear are the same on the transmission, it didn't really matter.
