One other notable difference between the Ausf. A n' G is the the hull is havin' a straight line all the way over the tracks n' that the A have a odd downward addition to the hullside alongside the end of the hull above the tracks.

I can't recall the details right now, or locate the book its mentioned in, but was there not also an upgrade of an extra idler wheel or something just behind the drive sprocket?

I know that the Ausf. G had an small idler wheel just behind the drivesprocket n' that it was replaced with a small skid on late Ausf. G's. If this small idler is missing on Ausf. D n' A I don't know.
