Re: Growl of the Panther Tank
Sorry it appeared I was holding out, I'll play age card..... I'd forgotten I even had that shot. I'm sure some of us have the same problem with all the resources we have available. Otherwise I'll offer my head on a platter.

Not sure this is the right thread here, but.... The "ambush" camo pattern by late-war, were there many Panthers that ended up with this? I know i've seen a few pictures of them, but as a "rule", were they mostly the usual 2/3 tone color, compared to the dot ambush type?
Cheers, thanks guys!! Tom pic challanged....... ![]()

Re: Growl of the Panther Tank
This is the place, although a thread on overall armor camo schemes used in WWII might be a good idea if your care to start one. A lot of guys here would jump on that.
![]() I think it would be a tough call as to just how many Panthers were painted with the ambush pattern. It was used on several different German tank types and mostly depended on crew and/or division. Panzermacher and I had this discussion once. He would be a good one share what he knows here. Suffice to say Panthers came in a wide variety of colors and schemes by wars end, including early war panzer gray. This was due to a surplus stock of the color in an industry plagued by the disruption of Allied bombing. In fact, I have a story about a pink Panther discovered somewhere "strange", but I'll need to look up my notes to tell that one.
