Smile Re: JagdTiger

Magna

I know there were some shipped there at the end of the war, I remember one read where a train pulled up and had a couple Jagdtigers on them. They unloaded, started towards the front, very close by, the Russians overran the positions, then the German crews just blew them up without firing a shot, then promptly surrendered!!

Cheers, I'll try to dig that up sometime.

Re: JagdTiger

from some records i have show S pzjg abt 653 and 512 were the ones to recieve the jagdtiger they recieved only 25 and the rest of the battalions were filled out with pz iii and pz iv. in total approximately88 jagdtigers were produced 11 with porsche suspension the rest were with henschell suspension it is also noted that 11 of the total were marked as unfit and used for training it is also noted that 4 of the jagdtigers were fitted with the 88mm pak43 L/71 instead 128mm pak 44 L/55. the jagdpanther was delivered to S pzjg abt 519, 559, 566, 616, 655, 654 the last being the most famous. some panzer divisions recieved the jagdpanther they were the 4th, 9th and 25th and used to fill the gaps from the loss of other vehicles. the only other unit to recieve the jagdpanther was the 2nd SS. in total there were 417 produced 51 of those saw action on the western front in the ardennes offensive the rest were on the eastern front

Re: JagdTiger

Thanks gents. I like to keep the right vehicles in the right places for gaming and so on.

These things would have been exceptionally dangerous over flat country.
