Smile Re: JagdTiger

Now that is service with a smile on it LAH!! I really liked the smaller side pic of the shell hit on the last page, AND the couple kill rings painted up, I always thought they were in a hurry retreating, but they must have found the time somewhere to do that.

My next thought is, what were the U.S. forces thinking when they saw what was arrayed against them, IF they would have had to assault these beasts in the town, if they did'nt surrender??? Any thoughts or clues there, the PF stack looks interesting as well, well equipped I see there as well (but I wonder how full their gas tanks were?)

Cheers, you made my day LAH with your great pics!!

Tom

Re: JagdTiger

Outstanding, as per your usual LAH! Thanks also for the color plates, I never knew that the Nashorn ace Albert Ernst ended up with a Jagdtiger. Now can you come up with any info on Otto Carius's Jagdtiger?

Re: JagdTiger

The 331 Otto Carius JagdTiger paint scheme is an interesting one. Was that unique or did other vehicles have the same ?

Re: JagdTiger

Many of these 'surrender' pics appear in one of the 'Panzer Wrecks' volumes and are among the best pictures in the series (I don't have the recently released volume 4 yet). On close inspection, almost all of the Jagdtigers have scars from impacts...some of them quite large. A pretty good indication of how much armour these beasts carried. Truly a spectacular vehicle.
