JagdTiger

I thought this was an interesting colour shot of a knocked-out (or abandoned then shot-up)Jagd Tiger.

Good one. Do you know where or when the photo was taken?

Re: JagdTiger

All I can find on it is "May 1945, Northern Germany". That does look like a Brit examining it, Doesn't it?

Re: JagdTiger

Its shows very little tan color, mostly red brown & Dk Green.
As cool as these looked, what a waste of material IMO.

Seem to be quite a number of destroyed Jagdtiger photos around.

Re: JagdTiger

Found this one from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds...

Note the grazing impact on the gun collar.

Re: JagdTiger

I took these pics of the same JagPanzer VI at Aberdeen proving grounds some years ago. There are two divets in the lower right of the glassis plate (front armor) and a hole where the 128 mm gun barrel meets the "saukauf" (sp?) mantlet. When I play ASL, I like to use this tank to assault bunkers. It can take direct hits from AT guns, blast the hell out of everything with 128 mm HE rounds, and it's lack of speed isn't a disadvantage. It's a mobile pillbox on the assault!

Enjoy!

Re: JagdTiger

One thing that really caught my attention, modelers, is in that color photo from WW2, the tracks seem to be really dusty light tan color.
