This is a VERY KEWL pic! I love that shape. However, it could be HollyWood for all I know. Fun none the less!
Kind of like Trojan helmets on wheels.

One from the Cold War...

The unusual design of this heavy 4-track Soviet tank was intended to allow it to remain upright in the event of a nuclear blast.

This one was made in Latvia when it was part of Russia in 1915.

The idea, it seems, was to develop an armored vehicle better suited to accepting inclines

Although a turret-less version was field tested, an actual fully functional vehicle was never produced

Re: Stranger Than Fiction Armor

I'm sure many of you have seen this photo shopped item on the web...

But did you know Ferrari actually designed and built a military armored car?

The Ferrari F333E Lizard

The Lizard was an odd little vehicle, it offered sports car performance with armored protection and special operations capabilities; had a reasonable price (one could buy several "Lizards" for the price of one Ferrari's top-end sports car) and provided a status symbol for some third-world dictators.

Unfortunately for Ferrari it did not make any waves with the military, because of the company's "absolute lack of experience in the military sales market.

The information with these photos said it was a "Soviet Swamp Tank"

Re: Stranger Than Fiction Armor

No information on this beast, but from the emblem on the side I was say Austrian and I would guess circa First World War.

If you look carefully you will notice that those are two similar, but different vehicles. Look at the number of rivets holding the plates on, and in particular, count the number of "louvers" on the front and side of the engine compartment.

I think Cyberia is right in that this is perhaps Austrian from WWI or between the wars.

Keen eye P-D, and after you had me look closer I also noticed one has headlights and the other does not.
