I know what you mean about the availability side of things too. I suppose it comes down to how popular each kit is. The types you mention are sure to sell well.
Oh yeah! I'd sure love to have a resin interior kit to my ongoin M13/40 as it's such a cute little bugger n' I'd really love to have the sidedoor wide open on it to show off all the goodies but no, it's not that popular. A wet dream would be if Dragon or Tristar made one with complete interior, now that would be a kit to put on top of the wishlist.
Oh dear - you haven't been over to the box sniffing thread have you ?

Re: Kunihito's Jagdpanther Ausf. G2

Actually McCoy, I'm surprised to see PE available for it. The popularity of German armour ensures that almost anything can be found...even if one has to search through more obscure manufacturer's catalogues. Czech Master for example. However it seems that every time Dragon releases a new kit, the aftermarket crowd usually come to the party. Dragon are very busy crushing Tamiya in the high end market...patience might be the key here.
Peace.

Yeah, but I really don't know were he bought the resin/PE update to my M13/40. But I'm sure glad that he did n' then sold it at a bargain to me later on...

Re: Kunihito's Jagdpanther Ausf. G2

There are all kinds of weird and obscure stuff available out there. My local hobby shop keeps dozens of catalogues for many manufacturers on the counter and customers are free to peruse them. If they find something they want, they can order it in with a small deposit...usually around 10% of the retail. The down side of this is that the last time I ordered stuff (from Verlinden...not very obscure) it took nine months to arrive.

I don't know for sure but I suspect that the majority of it was scratchbuilt. That is Kunihito's style.

Re: Kunihito's Jagdpanther Ausf. G2

Here are the final shots of Kunihito's Jagdpanther.
Note the use of the "red-oxide" primer in the camo. scheme. Also note the absence of "ivory" interior paint, only primer.

Hope you've enjoyed these,
razorboy
