Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
Very nice airbrush mate...Paasche make good stuff. 20 years ago when I was a graphic designer (
) I looked at a Paasche Turbo airbrush. Different in design and look, it's reputed to be capable of lines as thin as a human hair. That's my kind of tool. The kicker was that it retailed at $800 in 1987!!!!! I bought a 'Richpen' from China instead. These days I use an old (and on its last legs I fear) Aztek that I've had for about twelve years and an Iwata Custom Micron B which is the equivalent of the Turbo but not made in Germany...it's pretty conventional but has a very fine needle and tip. I've watched guys freehand camo on 1/72 armour with these...I'm almost intimidated by the thing. So fine, but it's a beautiful tool.

Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
What kind of compressors do you use mates...I waited until I could find one with a tank attached.

Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
I dunno the brand but it has a tank. It stops the air through the handpiece from pulsing.

Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
I've just heard so many good things about not being so picky on a brand of compressor (as much as it's important for an airbrush)...as in fact, many use everything from hardware store compressors to artist. I read what a lot of beauty shop (Nail painters) use, as I figured they need something that could provide smooth steady air at a reasonable volume level for the customer's ears! The one I chose is used extensively in that field, as well as hobbiests and light application jobs in auto body shops! How's that for across the boards!!!???

Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
Pretty broad Em. Brings to mind an interesting anecdote.
The ex-prez of my club is a highly accomplished modeller...you might recall I posted a pic of his Albatros DV. His wood grain technique blew my tiny little mind. He came to the club one meeting with this little airbrush in his hand. He said he'd bought it at the local auto accessories shop...there's a big chain called 'Super Cheap Auto'. He also said it was a Chinese 'knock-off' (copy) of a Badger brush and had cost him fifty bucks which is cheap for an airbrush. The last statement he made sold me. He said it was the best airbrush he'd ever used. From him, that's quite an endorsement. Expensive doesn't always equate to 'better'. Whatever works mate.

Re: Kunihito's Tiger 1
True true! My wife is always reminding me to "Think outside of the box"! Great advice. Just because it isn't the normal advertised or intended "use" for the product, doesn't mean it's not a viabale (or better) alternative. Ooooooh, that sounded quite inspired, didn't it mates?
