Re: The Panzermann Cometh!!

Ok This is a IS1 Diorama I did and ended up getting offered $1k for it. I took the money! It is a Dragon IS1 OoTB build, no frills. The Tank riders are the Tamiya Assault Infantry set. (Which IMO, is a GREAT set!) The first 2 Pics I took in silhouette on purpose....even waited for a snowy day! The last one I was trying my Zoom lens again.....kinda fuzzy... The German is the only scratchbuilt piece on the Dio...I made him from some resin and other bodyparts from the spare parts box

Re: The Panzermann Cometh!!

The Following 3 pics are of ICM kits.... THe T-35 was AWESOME!!! I built it strait OOTB and it had a few fit problems.... but a very decent kit. It went into a Big Dio of a German SdKfz 251 ausf.C and some infantry who were investigating this disabled beast. The final Dio had 3 Germans on the Engine deck, looking at a burned up Fuel Pump, one held in his hand,,,all the Infantry I assembled from the ole spare body parts box as usual. THat Dio sat at the Hobby store for 3 years til it got Squashed by the wife and a Laundry basket at home.....

THe second Dio was a drew of a T-28 in a briefing before battle...It took 1st place in Armor at the Peoria Area IMPS show.

Side note: YEs the interiors of Soviet Hatches USED to be painted white/Buff in the early days of the war...Same as the Germans.

Re: The Panzermann Cometh!!

The last set of scanned pics is of the details of a Commissioned Dio I still have (Yep ...it too is for sale if you are interested) IT is a Verlinden Building (OrtsKommandantuer I believe) That I heavily scratch buolt from the upper floor to the doors and window frames. All the Wood stuff was from old wooden model ship kits (Handy to have around) and the rest was stuff I put together from household stuff. The broken windows were from a Plastic battery package. The wall paper on the ground floor is the inside of a candy box. I used a thin layer of plaster behind the paper from the candy box to make a realistic "Layered" effect. The Ladder and the chair were scratch built from scrap wood. And the rubble can from a Custom Dioramics rubble and brick kit. I had a blast making this one!

Yet Again, the Infantry Figs were either from a Tamiya set, or from the Parts Box....the Panzer 4D was a stock build Tamiya

Thanx And that bf 109 was a blast, but very time consuming I think the total hours it took was 173. And that was from the start of the plane til the finish of the groundworks. I did have a good time doing this one and it was done a higher level than I have ever done before.....Whew!
