How do
you think it went?
Personally, I like it. I know weathering isn't somebody you know well. If you want to improve your techniques, had you ever considered a cheap kit in whatever scale that you whack together and then practice on? It's worked for me and mostly because I knew from the start that it mightn't look good at the end. So what?
I've ended up using probably the last three kits I've finished working up the guts to copy another modeller's sequence of techniques to the letter. Each time before, I used his ideas as a guide. The current Pz IV is so far, following Mig's sequences and techniques exactly. Just to see. My personal 'risk' on this kit has been spraying only the areas where decals are with clear gloss. The decals have gone on really well and they aren't going anywhere...but how am I going to restore the area to a true matt? It's a DAK tank at Tobruk and it's gunna have to be dusty.
Brings up a rather esoteric question though. You guys ever feel that modelling is a risk taking/problem solving affair? The risk being; 'One false move and a sixty buck kit's in the bin'. I sure do.
