PzKpfw VI Ausf. E "Tiger" Initial DAK version

This is my first cat n' my 8th build ever that I've completed. It's 'bout six months between this n' my PzKpfw IV Ausf. D DAK. This sPzAbt.501 Tiger in Tunis was completed in april last year so it's really quite some time in between that I finish my builds.

This kit hasn't been OOtB as I usually build but I've added Tamiya's PE for the engine grills, the sparetrack holders and the track is replaced with Academys link by link tracks for an early Tiger I. The cable to the headlights is thin copperwire and the cableclips is thin strips of Tamiya tape.

I've brushpainted the Tiger with mainly Humbrol #63, the commander is done with mainly Tamiya XF colours. The weathering have been done with dry pastells and don't show any significant wear n' tear since I wanted the Tiger to be fairly new.

My thought during the build have been: "Look out Tommy, Jerry's got a new toy!"

Well, the Tiger was really easy to build, a true Shake n' Bake kit so there wasn't any dificulties with it.

I'm using a Canon Powershot A530. My old Minolta SLR is wastin' space in my closet as I don't use it anymore. But my Canon is quite good for an regular pocket camera n' I try to use a ministand from Manfrotto to get better pics with my shaky hands.
