Re: Bring Ammo!

Nice work Dave! The wheelbarrow brings some contrastin' colour to the diorama allthough the shade seems a bit uncommon for the timeframe. But I like it that you're thinkin' outside the box.

Re: Bring Ammo!

How about a picnic table and some doilies to go with the flowers?

Mind you, the wheel barrow sets off the whole thing. It wouldn't be the same if it was plain brown or similar. It really does show the contrasts that occur in any situation - even war. I wouldn't have thought of it myself - very well done.

Re: Bring Ammo!

There' a beautiful diorama in one of my magazines of a Tiger 1 in a field of sunflowers. The base barely accommodates the model but the flowers are very tall. They reach almost to the line between the hull and turret. There are dozens of hand-made sunflowers all facing the same way...it's amazing. If I can find the mag, I'll post a pic. A little counter-point of colour can look great.

Hey man... I didn't paint it!
I like the contrast. I don't want to get too 'Artsy' here but I think it makes a great juxtaposition (eh? eh?) against the earth tones and the guy's uniform. If I'd done this, I would have included some flowers of the same colour in the dio.
Peace.

It looks really fantastic Dave and I love the job you did on the foilage mate, but I have to agree with Emery on the wheelbarrow.

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Bring Ammo!

Very memorable. I guess it's the unexpected that adds that certain spice sometimes.
