Re: Tips and helpful suggestions

Great. I bought a one litre tin of it two days ago for my kitchen bench tops...if it's a good thing, I'll have plenty. Now of course I'm thinking about whether it can be airbushed or not. Those hydrangea flowers are pretty delicate...hence the PVA idea. I still think Estapol is the best idea. Good luck.

You may get to it before I do but it is an intriguing idea.

Couple it with McCoy's glycerine treatment and it should cover just about every situation.

I have made trees for smaller scale by getting twigs and glueing on some flock. Hydrangeas I can get too. What would you suggest as a good sealer?
A couple of the Model Guru books I got suggest a dull, matte Hairspray. I have used it on some trees I did and it works great! No clean-up on the airbrush, no special trips to the hardware store.....just go to the market and pic up a can/bottle. I used "Hairnet" by Aquanet. It left a barely seen coat and gave the tree leaves a little shine but not TOO much.

That does sound good. No mucking around or clean ups and a good seal. Thanks PM.

Re: Tips and helpful suggestions

Hairspray also works for securing groundwork and sealing pastels. Make sure to test before you try!!

Do you find that hairspray makes the pastel 'disappear' or seem 'less' after sealing?

What kind of hairspray is best? Aerosol or handpumped?

Speaking of wire...

I remember hearing something about using guitar strings for radio antennae. Does anyone know which strings to use? I want to say "G" but I could be thinking about something else.
