Em, for brake lines I'd try stretched sprue (of course) but I'm pretty handy at getting whatever thickness I need...it's pretty easy but takes some experimentation. You might even consider human hair. Perhaps your wife might have long enough locks? Hair is nice and flexible and doesn't kink.

Isn't hard to bend the stretched sprue intothe appropriate angles? I would imagine that's pretty challenging on such a small scale. Then again, anyone who does rigging so well, I guess it's a piece of cake!

Nah, sprue is pretty easy to work with I've found.

You can also bend the stretched sprue roughly to shape before it cools down n' stiffens.
