Interesting you mentioned that book -- I just got it in the mail last weekend! That is probably 2nd or 3rd on deck for me to review for my website.

Re: Modeling News & New Kits

Got the new Squadron flyer, and in it was the Italeri kit Sd. 232 6 Rad

Now they have it on sale for $59.99, 40% off of regular $100.

Look at this site: Scalehobbyist.com: Sd.Kfz.232 6 Rad by Italeri Models

The squadron one says it has PE & Resin parts, that the only diff i can see.

Ah here we go, they also carry this one with the extras for $70:

Here it is without extras:

I would love to build this kit, did it ever serve in Africa??

Wow I have had enough trouble with all the pieces in the Dragon 1/72 JagdPanzer, let alone something like that Marder.

This wouldn't be smart for them. Isn't the US their major market? No such rumours down here. Anyway...there's better acrylics than Tamiya huh?

Re: Modeling News & New Kits

Tamiya is still suppling the US, there was a stall there when they switched
to a differn't company to manufacture their paint. It is now up and running
and you should be able to find it at most hobby stores.

Re: Modeling News & New Kits

That was probably a rumour started by some shop when explaining to a customer why the colour stand wasn't up to date on Tamiya colours. Shopkeepers n' sellers are know for saying to customers what the think is the truth or just plain lie when they get questions that they're not comfortable with. It's an easy way to start a rumour.
