So this is me:

My Name is Klaus and I´m 25 years old. Born in Bregenz/ Austria I live now in Dornbirn, a view miles form my place of birth. Some of you may wonder:"Where the heck is Bregenz or Dornbirn?" Those cities are in Vorarlberg. Vienna is in the east of Austria and Vorarlberg in the west. Next to Switzerland. In 1919 Vorarlberg even wanted to become a part of switzerland. But they didn´t want us. Sad, isn´t it?

Welcome Klaus! Thanks for coming by and thanks even more for registering and posting.

And thanks for this geography/history lesson. Was that in the aftermath of World War I when the Austro-Hungarian Empire was breaking up?

Yes. One year after the first WW. I can´t recall the exact Date, but there was a voteing sometime in 1919.

We even got a saying in Vorarlberg about that incident, that is still in use: "Früher und in der Schweiz war alles besser." Which means roughly translated: "In those days/back then and in switzerland everthing was better."

It would have been fun to be in the World Championship for once.

I was in Vienna for a 4 day pass from a tour in Bosnia....that was in 92/93.
Great City....bit expensive but still a good party town......

Vienna is a great City. History at every corner. And a lot more brands of beer then they got in Vorarlberg.
