Im making a Documentary...

Hello all,
id like to introduce myself, my name is Daniel J. Gomez im a student at Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Tx. and im currently in the process of gathering and putting together a school funded Documentary film. The film is in rememberance of the 101st airborne division and i was curious who can help me with more spacifialy, historical overviews or any publications. and im very interested aslo in interviewing if only, but not limited to, phone or e-mail as many paratroopers as i most possibly can, as well as gathering personal photographs if possible. when this process is finished i would like to share the work i made because my grandfather was a paratrooper in the 101st. post back or you can get me on e-mail id really appreciate your help. thanks for your time.

Re: Im making a Documentary...

Daniel, one of your best assets is going to be Mark Bando's "Triggertime" website. Mark is one of the foremost researchers of the 101st, and has personally interviewed hundreds of the veterans.

I believe "Wild Bill" Guarnere has a website out there somewhere, too.

You'd have to check with the National Archives for film, both still and movie. I know they have some, I just don't know about getting it.

Good luck, it sounds like an interesting project!

Hi Daniel and welcome to the site!

The sites that Tom mentioned are at TRIGGER TIME - 101st Airborne WW2 and wildbill guarnere.com. If you have not come across it, the official site of the 101st is here.

You might also find Interview with 101st Airborne Trooper James Flanagan about D-Day worthwhile.

Hopefully those will start you in the right direction.
