Thanks guys..preciate the hello..nice to know that I can have a place to come to and talk to people with the same intrests. I plan on sticking around for quite a while...and Hagen..my wifes uncle was a ball turret gunner on a 17,I have his gunners wings his uniforms even his old raybans.. he did 2 tours over Germany..

well..about myself..I'm 52 and have been an aviation buff since my dad took to the Airforce Musuem for the 1st time when I was 6.I grew up building Monogram model airplanes..My favorite era would have to be the planes from WWII. Alied of course...but do have a soft spot for some of the axis fighters. I had always dreamed about being a piolet..but my eyesight was bad as a kid..flying a modern jet fighter was just out of the question. Learning to fly now isn't possible..just because I can't afford it. I'm glad to have found this site..nice to have folks that are interested in the same thing I am to talk to. I love mywife but I just can't carry on a conversation about a home inprovment show she saw on HG tv for more then 5 minutes at a time. Hope to meet a lot of new friends here.

ex RAAF - AAP 780
I know its authentic, was in the RAAF over 30 years ago and found it in a box I was unpacking this weekend
