Re: Looking for printable P51 Mustang Pilots Manuals

Hello Jim, welcome and best of luck to you and your friend in locating the P-51 manual.

Where did your father serve in the war? My grandfather was a maintenance engineer with the Chinese Army Air Corps in WW2. He built and maintained airfields in Southern China and Burma during the war for Chinese and American aircraft, and saw a short side stint maintaining parts of the Burma Road. Even if they served in different areas or even totally different theaters of war, I wonder if they might had made good friends based on their similar experiences.

Looks like we have a lot of aircraft blood in all of us! I'm surprised we don't see more aircraft discussions

Actually my father's brother flew a complete compliment of missions as (I believe) a gunner/radio operator over Europe before D-Day.

Of course his other brother served as a cook on a carrier in the Pacific.

Well keeping with Fathers in the Army Air Corps, my Father was a P38 Lightning mechanic in the Panama Canal zone. And my uncle was a navigator on B-17's out of England, flew 33 missions including both Schweinfurt raids. Now what else? Oh yeah, Welcome Jim.

If you contact the musuem of the united states airforce in dayton..the gift shop there has reproductions of numerous manuels. I almost bought the one for the mustang last week. Most manuels are between $9 and $25
