I did.
Yeah, come on Klaus und Nord, pick up the modelling again....The kits have 10times as many parts as they did 15 years ago....but the satisfaction level hasn't faded any. I was out of it for years and I've found that getting back into modelling is theraputic to say the least.....come on and give it a try! I can guarantee you'll get nothing but support from me and the other guys...guarantee it! Come on fellas, WE NEED SOME MORE MODELLERS ON THIS FORUM!!!

Re: Greetings

It is a little bit hard to get models of german (my main interest) infantry tanks etc in Austria. And you can't make 'em look authentic. No swastikas allowed here. But I thought of picking up that hobby agin pretty much lately. Even though I always sucked at painting. Big time. If I see a model I like I contact you guys for sure.

Please do Klaus, I and the others will assist you in any way we can. We like to show off our knowledge - or what we perceive to be our knowledge. Please join us in some modelling!

Is it illegal to have a model with a swastika on it in a persons private collection in Austria?

Anyhow Klaus, most of the german AFV's didn't have swastikas on them, so you should be fine.

If you can't get what you want in Austria, simply order what you want over the internet from a country that does.

I like what Tamiya is making at the moment in 1/48 scale, including personnel sets that contain more than just a few figures in them.
Here are some pictures of what Tamiya have in their German 1/48 range, there are more than the ones pictured and they are still to release even more soon.
(Not one swastika on any of them.)

To see more of what Tamiya has, click on the link: 1/48 MM Series

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Greetings

I know that there werent a lot of swastikas around. Except for planes maybe. But that is not the main problem. I like german infantry a lot. I can get soldiers from every nation. but germans are a tough one. Still not very popular to build Wehrmacht Infantrie-Units in Austria after all.

Even ordering bigger figures than the nail of your thumb in a model shop can be quite unnerving. They haven't got a lot. And what they got is crap (pardon my french). But I'll have a look at the Homepage you suggested. Maybe I can order something from there.

Klaus, check out internethobbies on the web. If you like what you see, contact Dale the owner, tell him Paul, aka, cyberia sent you. He will take good care of you and has everything a modeler could want.

Re: Greetings

Thanks Paul. I'll try that some time. Right now I am busy making a diorama for my Dragon figures. Making your own bricks in the correct size for a crumbled wall is not as much fun as I thought. Not to mention a broken window.
