You wouldn't recognize it now! Used to go to Melbourne a lot in the mid to late 80s when I managed bands, we used to stay at the POW in St Kilda, then didn't go down again till 2006 for about a week. I do like visiting Melbourne, except for the turn right from left rule!

So you know Melbourne. I actually live in the Dandenong ranges outside Melbourne. Still close enough that I can visit my mates but far enough away that I have possums in the roof and kookaburras in the garden.
Yeah...the right from left rule, obviously to accommodate trams in the city is kinda weird. You'd be surprised how little that affects most Melbournians...you'd have to be mad to drive in the city I reckon. I know a guy who used to live down here who manages bands but now lives in Sydney. Alternative stuff. I haven't seen him for years.

Ah, a Sandgroper!
 I flew over with a band I used to work for in 1986 or 87 IIRC, for one gig, and we played at the Red Parrot I think?
