Hello
Ahoy there! Just wanted to say hello, as I have not yet posted on the board.
I am a fan of WWII gaming, and have recently gotten quite into playing Memoir '44. I know it is rather simplified for many folks, but it is a good fit for my limited time and budget. Additionally, my main opponents are my kids (9 and 6) and IMO it is a great game for younger gamers. Both of them really enjoy playing, and it is awesome to see them learning logic and strategy as we play.
Also, I am a miniatures gamer - having been indoctrinated into GW games a while ago. Mostly now however I tend towards skirmish games - Legends of the Old West and the recently released Legends of the High Seas are at the top of my list currently. I very much enjoy modelling and painting as well as playing, and since neither game requires a huge army they are almost perfect for my tastes. I have heard that some others are working on adapting the ruleset to Chicago gangster wars, and I imagine it would be a short jump from there to a WWII skirmish game based on the system.
I look forward to hanging out here - though how often remains to be seen. It seems that there are more and more very cool forums out there every day, yet there remain only 24 hours in each day. Unfair, if you ask me, but that is the way of it.
