Hi my name is Noel,my father is German born in Danzig .I would like to know where I can get information about SPECIAL SOVIET CAMP NO.9 in Funfeichen 1945-1948 my dad was detained in this camp

Noel, welcome. Small world as my father was also born in the Danzig Region and was held in Soviet labor camps from 1943 until 1952.
I wish you luck on finding information but be forewarned, it can be a frustrating endeavor.

Welcome to the site Noel. Basic information on some of the so called "Special Camps" is available, but detail is not readily available, at lest not in English. The NKVD kept many prisoners in the Soviet zone of occupation in former Concentration Camps. For instance Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was Special Camp Number 7 (later renamed Special Camp #1).
There is a man named Alex Latotzky who was born in one of the camps in 1948. He has a site at a childhood behind barbed wire. You may want to use the contact link there to see what information he has.

Hi Noel, we here at The Zone are starting to pick up some Russian topics, But I don't know to much about that subject as of yet. The links provided from other members here might help you out maybe, we have some great people who try to help the best way that they can, good luck on the info you are trying to find.

hi cyberia yes it is a small world Ihave some info camp no9 my dad went back to the camp site last year, he is back there at the moment for a reunion dad was released in 1948 .He only talked about his experience a few times with us (family) .I hope to visit Funfeichen with a year or 2 . Last year GERMAN-TV NDR did a doco on camp no9 it would be good if the rest of the world could get to see this ,we have DVD of a interview of dad Well that about all I have to say .Yes one thing my father has only gone back to Germany twice since the end of ww2 that's it from AUSTRALIA
