Just joined.......
Hi All,
Just joined, as the profile; I enjoy Mountaineering on the Scottish Munroes, Rugby Union, Longbow Archery, History, Heraldry and model making. The model making is something that I have only recently restarted again (in the last two years or so). As a child and teenager had completed a lot, which have now been mostly used as toys, or sun damaged with age. Enjoy combining the recent interest in modelling of WW2 Axis and Allied Armour with any associated research for model accuracy. Have seen service in the TA, and the RN. Another historical aspect I enjoy is heraldry, particularily its contextual application, esp. in Germany from 1750s to the formation of the Republic and its association with iconography. The Longbow Archery is another pastime, and a form of stress relief. There is nothing better than practicing a form of skill at arms, as those did over 6 centuries ago, we just leave the beer drinking till after a shoot.

Welcome aboard, Brin! Interestingly enough, I was recently reading a book about a longbowman back in the 1300s or so. Amazing what those things could do!! Have you ever fired at things other than straw targets, just to see what the penetration capabilities are?
