Tom, try selecting "Quote" on the post you are replying to. That way your answer will appear right below the question.

Wustenfuchs is good, but he ain't that good.

Actually mate the Johnson M1941/44 was used in an earlier post in this thread, and it took a while for us to work out what it was.
(Tom H named it eventually.)

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Name That Weapon

This is an 'infamous' rifle, so naming it shouldn't take long at all.

Can anyone here tell me what its "claim to fame" was?

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Name That Weapon

Not sure but I think it's the M91/41. the Kennedy assination Carcano was a shorter model.

Correct on both counts.

The JFK rifle was the shorter barrel version of the Caranco M91/41.

The thread is yours.
(Sorry Urban, but you didn't "Name It" mate.)

Cheers,
Dave

Re: Name That Weapon

Well I didn't intend to do that. I'm just an observer who steps in from time to time when I can't hold it back mate.

Re: Name That Weapon

I can still clearly remember seeing the weapon displayed on our black and white TV, the scoped, short barreled Carcano, it looked ugly to begin with but took on a new ugliness after Nov. 22.
