Worst Small Arms of WWII

Post your entrys and an explanation why

I would have to say the Nambu Type 94 8mm pistol. It was poorly designed and sometimes went off while it was in the soldier's holster which could injure or kill them.

Re: Worst Small Arms of WWII

i would haft say that the britsh standard six shot pistel of both wars
would off been fairly useless... why ..

old out dated no real punch no distance in bullet range to do any real
damage you had to be within 15 to 20 yards of any one
thats why i say useless ........

Nambu M94

It is considered to be the worst military pistol of modern times.
No_Nickname was right, the cocking mechanism was so poorly designed
that it could fire accidentally if it was subject to any sort of pressure.

You 'can't' be referring to the Webly? It had a heck of a wallop! No pistol is worth a heck of a lot beyond 15-20yds. anyhow. Practically speaking that is.

But my choice would be the Japanese knee mortar.

You don't mean for those allied troopers that "liberated" 'em n' thought it would be a nice n' novel idea to test 'em n' doin' so by usin' their leg n' knee as support with the result that was most ugly n' even more painful when their bones n' knee's shattered by the recoil.

Re: Worst Small Arms of WWII

He could be talking about the Enfield .38?

But for it's time (1915-1945), the Mk VI was a valuable
sidearm. Also it had an effective range of 30m and fired a
.455 cartridge. I say it would be the best (British) revolver of
the 20th century.

Re: Worst Small Arms of WWII

The "Knee mortar" itself wasn't a bad weapon, it was just that the allied didn't understand it's concept n' how it was to be used.

The Americans had big problem with the .38 also. I'd like to get my hands on a Webley in good shape.$$$
