Volksmaschinengewehr VMG-27

Does anyone know if the germans used this machine gun? I have a few questions about this gun:

1)When it was made?

2)Was any of these used in combat?

3)What was the maixmum capacity?

4)What was the cartridge?

5)What are the dimensions?

The VMG-27? Wow that's a new one to me. If there was such a thing I'm sure someone here in the Zone will provide the details.

This is all I could find on this weapon.

And the translation said; "VMG27 was designated by the Wehrmacht but not introduced."

A very early design, later 1920's, when I first went looking I thought I would find it to be one of Germanys last ditch efforts to supply the Volkssturm with a cheap and easy to produce machine gun.

That jives with want I could find. Here's an English translation from a German site: 1926, the company Vollmer an MG, which consists of only 78 parts, while the MG 08/15 from at least 383 parts. The public as machine gun (VMG) 27 machine gun was designated by the Wehrmacht but not introduced, although it showed good Schießergebnisse. But it was not as light and heavy MG use.

And here's a link to that site:Maschinengewehre

Re: Volksmaschinengewehr VMG-27

From Maschinengewehre:

Quote:
My German is not that good but also translates to having been made in 1926 by Vollmer. Wehrmact designated but not used. Perhaps not as light weight and strong enough (schweres) for machine gun use.
