Re: Name that weapon- Serious

He appears to be resting is left hand on the magazine of this weapon if it is a weapon.

I know some stuff about World War II weapons and the Italians had some weird stuff...but I do know the Japanese had a sub machine gun similar to that that incorporated the trigger assembly in the stock and from the stock around it like a trigger guard but built in called the Type 11 which was only 27.6in and weighed 8.3lb it's not THAT strange compared to this picture though and that's saying something it doesn't have the right stock either.

But if not then it might be a Cei-Rigotti Automatic Rifle which was an Italian rifle made in the mid 1890's to about the earlier 1900's it was 6.5mm so if you can find that ammo of his dad's you've got a match. It weighed 9.6lb and was 39.4in in length overall but it's highly unlikely by the looks that it could be a Cei-Rigotti.

Here's a link that could help get a spark: Atlante storico delle armi lunghe

It's in a foreign language but you can pretty much tell what it says.

The Countries are in this order:

Austria
Germany
Denmark
Italy
and the last I believe is Mexico but I'm not sure
