Re: Wow... what an ending to the day...
Crystal meth (crank) has a way of destroying people in short order. Here and there in my life I've seen way too much of the insanity it drags people into. Sorry to hear you have to deal with this.

Re: Wow... what an ending to the day...
My son and daughter have now both had the experience of knowing someone killed violently. My daughter also knows a guy who has killed during a road rage incident. The waste of young lives is the most tragic waste of all.

Trev,
Being confused about how you "should" feel is quite natural in a situation like this. I'm glad that you wrote about it and shared it. I guess I don't need to add my preachings to the evils of crystal meth. It has a way of destroying minds, bodies, and lives. My sympathies go out to the families of those two boys. They have both lost sons.

Here's the link: wjz.com - Teen Arrested In Glen Burnie Baseball Bat Death
Now from what I've heard, no one knows that happened. I heard the person who was killed was another kid... 49 isn't a kid. Also on the video says he was cussed at and stuff. The writen report on the website says otherwise and I know reliable people who say it was a flopped drug deal. I wish I never knew the kid now...

Whenever something like this is close to home or we know someone involved it does hit harder. The best part for you Trev is that you have seen it for what it was - a waste of lives. The thing is to keep doing what you do and store these happenings for future reference. That is what people tend to call wisdom - you are starting earlier than most which can only be a good thing in the long run.
Thanks for sharing with us too Trev. It's hard to do sometimes. |

Re: Wow... what an ending to the day...
The meth is relatively new down here...heck, we're 20 years behind in almost everything. Crack and PCP are unknown here but the meth is fast making its mark. To cite one case, a guy who was waiting for a train at a railway station and reading a book was randomly stabbed to death near where I worked...the guy got life. That kind of stuff going on more and more.
I never knew anybody who died violently myself, but I (and Leatchy) knew a guy who committed a mass shooting in 1987. He was nineteen. He shot eleven people, seven of whom died. There's no 'right' way to feel Trev. Whatever you are feeling is natural and to be honest, there's stuff that we'll just never know so asking 'why?' doesn't help much either. It's a tragic waste and it's not just the two lives ruined. Presumably, this kid had a family who loved him. They must be shattered. Good on you for sharing Trevor...it's weird huh? People go through all kinds of strange and surprising emotions when faced with unusual situations. I heard news of an old friend last night. He recently beat Hodgkinson's Lymphoma. He was sick for three years. Now that he's well again, his life has kinda disintegrated...he has post traumatic stress disorder from fighting cancer. He realised things weren't right when he was going for his last 6 monthly check up...and wishing that the cancer had returned!! How's THAT for strange stuff under stress. Peace mate...I'm around if you need an ear.

Salutations All
As a former drug addict, it amazed me how easily a person can become addicted. But taking drugs is a personal choice and this person must face justice. Regards Roddoss72
