The Count Is Now...

...52, or somewhere near it. I lost count around 47.

Under the right eye, about a 1/8" puffed up, from the eye to around the middle part of the nose. Litte bit of red swelling. Medication includes, Ibeprofin, somesort of steriod, and Benadryl. Approximate time since incident- 12-13 hours. Location of incident, under 2nd story deck, while clearing the wall of vines. Location of damge, unknown, near the right side of the nose.

Limitations: Work will be cancelled tomorrow due to limited eyesight and possibilty of fatigue.

The cause of all of this?

Re: The Count Is Now...

Last summer I 'found' a hornets nest the size of a soccer ball. Didn't even mess with it and called an exterminator. I've never seen a hive that big.

Re: The Count Is Now...

I'v had an uneasy truce with the paper wasps (and their less agressive Bumble Bee friends) in my garden for the past 25 or so years. Their good for the garden and I haven't been stung yet, I just try to ignore them and move slowly when sharing their space, but when they hover 2 inches in front of your face that can be a dicey situation. Wish you the best Commander!

Re: The Count Is Now...

We have nests of Euorpean Wasps in our garden every so often. I put out water or meat to find which way the nest is...I follow the bastards home. When I find it, I wait until dark then nuke it with the old powder. Next morning I dance on their aggressive, dangerous little graves. I've been stung twice and my son once. That's enough! It bloody hurts!!
Get well soon Trev.

Re: The Count Is Now...

My uncle once discovered a big, real big nest in one of his sheds. He went out n' borrowed an industrial vacumcleaner n' had it on located at the whole in the shed that the nasty buggers used for their traffic to n' from the nest... He really filled it...

Re: The Count Is Now...

I'm allergic to at least one type of those flying stingers. Not entirely sure which strain, so I take 'em out every chance I get!! I like sprayin' 'em, then watching them drop out of the eaves, writhing on the ground as the life seeps out of them. Truce, my arse!

Trev, I'm glad you're only suffering mildly. It could have been a lot worse, lad!
