Medic!

One of the most famous Medic photos of the war taken by the Signal Corps
A 3rd Division Medic gives blood to a wounded GI

It went on to be used by the Red Cross urging blood donations long after the war

Re: Medic!

The above group of African American Medics landed on Utah Beach/Normandy on D-Day + 4, as part of a 9 person all Black team of Medics, which included 2 officers, and spent most of the rest of the European campaign attached to the 3rd Army while participating in many of its major actions. This team served with the 687th and the 530th Medical Detachments.

Re: Medic!

Nice one Matt! Check out the expression on that medic's face. He must have seen his share of suffering and then some that day.

Geez, I just realized that the casualty that they are tending to is another medic in the 4th Division. This means that they are on Utah Beach and not Omaha beach. Over the Medic in backs left shoulder it looks like someone else huddled in a blanket. as well as along the left side of the page. This may be an aide station set-up at the seawall.
