Feldlazarett: German Field Hospitals

An emergency field hospital set up on an airstrip in Central Russia, 1942
where wounded could be placed on medical Ju-52s for transport to hospitals back home

A nurse attends wounded Wehrmacht troops at a Feldlazarett

Wound tags bordered in red, as on this officer, indicated wounds too serve for the man to be moved

Those lucky enough to be transported to actual hospitals were often transported in medical rail cars
