The NKFD

The NKFD (Nationalkomitee Freies Deutschland) was perhaps one of the most intresting anti-Nazi organisation in Europe, consist of German POW in the USSR and German Communist exiles, althought it's was sanctioned by the Russians it's had a nationalist German tone and claim the only way to save Germany was to overthrow Hitler and retreat to the 1937 borders.

It's interesting that neither organization really had much of an impact. I wonder if the Allies would have dropped the "unconditional surrender" demand and negotiated a peace with a non-Nazi German government that was willing to retreat to 1937 borders (and no doubt make other concessions).

I disagree with you, from all the anti-nazi German organisations it's seem that only the NKFD manage to has a positive affect on the war afford and unlike so many other organisation it's was the only one whose member play a role in shaping post WWII Germany (I'm not saying it's was a great success just that it's was more succefull than others).

I was referring specifically to the war, not the post war period in contrast to the hundreds of thousands of non-Germans who volunteered to fight in the Waffen-SS and the Wehrmacht.

What effect did it have on the war effort exactly?

Nor did the NKFD or BDO seem to have inspired much anti-Nazi resistance in Germany itself.

I didn't say that they were a great success but comparing to the other anti-nazi German groups they certinly contribute more to the war afford.
