I can remember him and the Affair. But not very good. After all I was six years old when that happened. But the Photo in the news article was the first picture I ever saw from the war. Sweet dreams Kurt.

Don't get yourself down, Jim. You are not "just" old. You are ancient. Naaah, just kiddin. I know what you mean. Even I can remember things (Tschernobyl, Waldheim, the fall of the Berlin wall etc.) that some younger people can't. that sometimes makes one feel a little bit old. But it is funny too. I always call people that were born 1986 "Tschernobyl-children". Of course they never know what I'm talking about.

One of my earliest memories (but not my absolute earliest) is John F Kennedy's assassination in November of 1963. But as my father said many times, it's good to get old because it beats the alternative.

Good point. If I don't end up with Dementia, Alzheimer and Parkinson like my grandmother I am fine with getting old.
