I agree with the Japanese on this one. I think it is foolish to apologize for something you did not do. That is feel good politics at its worst. The people who should have apologized for that are long gone. The current Japanese should not be saddled with their guilt.

Doesn't the US Congress have better things to do? No, of course not.

Everyone needs to get over it unless it happened to them or their family. I am not saying you can't have outrage or an opinion. But, our country hasn't always been squeaky clean and I do not want to open that can of worms. It never seems to accomplish real healing, but it does open everyone up to ill feelings and makes some wounds worse, IMHO.
