I hope no one is offended but whenever I see that photo of his of the five Marines at Iwo Jima:

Actually, many argue that the photographer who took that picture must had been (at least subconsciously) inspired by Rosenthal's photo.

On somewhat related topic, if I may put in another shameless plug to my website, I have five excellent photos of the Marine Corps War Memorial which is built to the likeness of Rosenthal's Pulitzer-winning photograph:
