I could post a few more photos but in the "quick reply" section I can only post pics off the internet.

    Re: some random figures

It takes a lot of work to do figures. I am still learning. One thing I have picked up is the eyes. Always a hassle. Many modellers don't put white in at all. One piece of advice I was given was to look at the figure you are painting and see what the eyes are doing. Squinting, wide open in fear and so on. Then go and stand in front of a mirror and do the same thing with your eyes. Look at how much white you can see. Where are the eye brows? The most noticeable thing is usually how much is taken up by the iris or coloured bit. It's huge. Normally you can't see the top and bottom of the circle it forms. The eyes are very important. Many of my figures have eyes that bug out because I have white above and below the iris. I'm getting the idea now and the photographs on this site are a massive help, whether in colour or not.

What make are the figures by the way ?

Yea...figures are a whole new ball-game and not one of my strong areas. The first question I had was the same as MAGNA's...what brand are the figs? It looks to me like you've used some colour variation on the heads which is great. I also really like the camo pattern you've done. It's a good representation of that particular scheme...I think they call it 'pea pattern' or something similar. The other thing I like is that you've resisted the urge to commit what to me is a bit of a modelling cliche. There's any number of dioramas and figures wearing these camouflage patterns with a mixture of patterns between helmet, tunic and pants...it's not unusual to see figures wearing three different patterns. I'm sure it happened in real life but I've never seen a photo of it myself. Cool figures mate. Thanks for the pics. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
    Peace.

Thank you everybody. I absolutely love makeing figures. I can spend hours on 1 at a time. The box says MINIATURE FIGURES SERIES: German Infantry "destroyer" set by ACADEMY Hobby Model Kits. I found them randomly on ebay. A great buy!
Thanks for the note about the faces, but I always think that they could be better. I read in one of Shepard Plane's books that he beleives a good face can make a bad model better and vise versa a bad face can make a good model suck. For him he makes the eyes a shaddow and won't put any white in the eyes. I ignore that and do my own thing. I put in a darker and lighter shade of flesh tone in the face with white eyes and a black dot.
I am happy with the camo scheme too, but do you think it is innacurate at all?

Well done, the green pattern SS Spring looks very close for the size. The brownish one I'm not sure of, I'll have to dig up a sample.

    I'll be back with more.

    Re: some random figures

To be honest mate, I'm not the one to talk about accuracy. They look great (and close to pics I've seen) and that's what counts. I believe in accuracy until it becomes a pain. They say the sprockets on the Panzer IV I built are a millimetre too low. Some folks do all the 'surgery' required to correct that. I'm never going to that extent. The only thing I'd point out is that the first figure (at the top) is firing an MG 42 with no belt or magazine. It's really a two man weapon with the guy firing it and a loader with extra belts and if prudent, an extra barrel or two. Such was the rate of fire with this weapon that the barrel heated ridiculously fast. I'm sure it was fired the way you have it sometimes...but it seems a bit 'Hollywood' to me.

The camo schemes look pretty good to me. After all, I could see what they were at first glance which surely counts for something.

Figures are no where near my strong suit, so can't say too much as for advice. I really like the camo colors and patterns.
