I have never understood this.
They find quite people scary and unusual because most people like to talk. I have often seen this and have often wondered this my self.
Interesting what threatens folks.
Empty vessels make the most noise. Those 'full' vessels might just have us pegged eh?

Because the quiet types don't talk as much its harder to gauge them and know what they are really like.
As a race, humans have a proven track record of not trusting and being fearful of the unknown.
(The "unknown" can include other people as well.)
Rational or not,its just a survival instinct we all have built into us and is perfectly normal.

People who are quiet are harder to read and people don't like that.
