Hi peeps
Some of you know me, some of you don't and some of you would rather you didn't
But I'm here to ask for some assistance from the community (I got the green light to ask from Jimbo)
I currently host a website that deals with the specific subject of the B-24 Liberator and it's use by the RAF and Commonwealth Airforces. The site is about 9 years old and is currently already in it's 2nd incarnation.
The amount of content already on the site and the amount I have to add has become completely unwieldly so I'm in the process of rewriting the site in to Mk III using Joomla which is a CMS (Content Management System).
The old site uses PhP and MySQL, what I'm looking for is
- People that either know PhP and or Joomla
- Administrators and content managers (donkies to add content lol )
- General advice and guidance.
- People to slap me around when I need a sanity check.
I've run the site completely on my own for all these years and for the last couple of years it's suffered because of the lack of time available to me. Well I think it's time to bite the bullet and start to trust others to help (assuming they want to). It's not easy asking for helpas I've become a bit protective of the content. Most of it has been donated by veterans and their relatives so I'm honour bound to protect it's use and distribution. It currently holds the largest collection of photos concerning this subject on the net.
So if any of you have a passion for B-24's and want to help in this project just give me a shout here or on the sites.
Old Site
New Site
Eventually the new site will have the same domain name as the old one.
Cheers
Gary
PS this is a long term project 9 years and counting so far.
