    PoW 1/700 dullcote experiment results

You asked for it, you got it. And yes, it worked. The effect is subtle but the dullcoat blocked out all the areas on the paint that were giving a shiny reflection..

Heres are the pics, as I said it is very subtle but noticeable (look for it!) 1st pic is regular, while the second pic is dullcoated. I am a believer. [Product is testors dullcoat lacquer btw]

Thanks Maglar. That is a definite difference. It's hard to tell with the pics but it doesn't seem to have altered the colouring in any way either.

To my naked eye the colors are the same. It seems to have blended them better together also and made the model look better. Dig it!

Enamel on that one, the deck got really messed up because I decided to use " wood " on a white prime and I ended up thin wiping the deck causing bad oxidation. Thats why only a few panels show through, but whatever it was a good practice.

Nice result Maglar! It looks much better now. I guess that you're satisfied with the result.

Hey mate...seems you've had better luck with the dullcote than I have. Still, I'll try it again...probably on my next aircraft project. Looks good and hopefully you now have some techniques under your belt that you didn't have before. That's what it's all about.
    Peace.
