But it's a serious question. The B-24 Liberator was widely used by the RAF and the Commonwealth countries during the War. When a bird was shipped to the Far East the letters SNAKE were written on the side to identify that she was for the SEAC (South East Asia Command) and not for 205 Group, 100 Group or one of the other Commands that used the Lib.
What I want to know is why SNAKE and not something else, where did SNAKE come from?
