    Desert Storm: USMC M151A2 FAV

The Dutch modeling-forum MODELBROUWERS.NL also has group-builds. Currently, the theme is 'Desert Storm'. I happened to have a M151A2 from Tamiya that I had no use for, prior to this build. The M151A2 saw some action in Desert Storm, but only as a USMC FAV, so I had to modify the kit a bit. Together with two figures from Verlinden, this is the result:

He models Marines. I like him.

    I like the model, too!

Used to drive the M-151, loved them, I still feel it was a mistake to pull them off the line.....I feel that the military exagerated the dangers of these vehicles so they could get Hummers instead.

Hehe....the .50 gave me some trouble. Because it was not provided in this kit, I used one from another wich was too small for the pedestal from yet another kit. The solution I used was 2 small pieces of polysterene to make it fit in between. It doesn't show from a distance, but close-up I'm not too proud of the result. The handle is made of two small staples

Thanks for the compliments about the camo!

Awesome mate. The figures are excellent. It's a great little vignette and a really good example of the 'less is more' idea. Thanks for the pics.
    Peace.

We HAD to weld a roll cage onto our because it flipped so easily.
If you bought it, we brought it.
