    Italy

Someone please tell me what happened to the German army in Italy. After Rome and up and until they surrendered could they not get back to Germany from Italy. From June 6th onwards its all about western Europe what happened to the Germans in Mussolini's country. They were nasty people that strung him up the good dictator.

Italy is such a can of worms. It seems if it could go wrong, it generally did in Italy.

They stayed there because the allies were still trying to push up the boot. Both sides wanted to tie the others troops up.

Mussolini was 'strung up' because many did not like the fact that they had been drawn into a war they could have stayed out of, one which ended up coming to their own backyard.
