Not your fault Doc, but this photos caption smells. Only reason to burn village(and possible roof overhead to themselves) is revenge to civilians about something(killed soldiers etc.) or retreating troops burning houses that no russian troops could use them. And those fellas don't look like retreating troops or partisan hunters. There is even children amongst them.
